NOTICE: This document is meant to outline the gang system that brings higher quality role play to Legacy. This system is subject to changes, so check regularly.

Gang system

Being a gang at LegacyRP requires good roleplay and understanding of the criminal underworld. To become a gang, you need to apply and if accepted you will be granted access and abilities different from regular criminals. This is to further enhance and improve roleplay interactions as a criminal.

At LegacyRP there is not a defined gang type and everyone is free to roleplay with their own story, origin and approach, within the scope of what is acceptable with regard to rules and guidelines. To better outline the definitions of a gang, there is a tier system used to define gangs. The abilities and possible roleplay routes increase as you move up in tiers. If your application were to be accepted, you would start at the bottom tier (tier 0). All the current tiers are listed and defined below:

Gang rules

Being an official group also means you need to adhere to an extra set of rules.

(5.1) Gang activity is limited to 6 members of any combination of whitelisted members whenever participating in criminal activity. Rule 4.4 and 5.2 are in effect. Gangs are allowed up to 8 members only to defend against PD Raids.

(5.2) As previously mentioned, the alliances are meant to be strictly economic and do not allow for a defensive pact.

(5.3) Whitelisted Clothing can be used by anyone as long as it was obtained in Roleplay.

(5.4) When engaging in a gang war and the police show up, your primary focus should be disengaging and escaping. To reiterate, 4.3 is still in effect and only allows 6 members in total to engage in criminal activities against other parties, such as the cops.

(5.5) You are not allowed to be a member of more than one gang on any given character.

Trial Whitelisted Gangs and Fully Whitelisted Gangs

Newly approved gangs will be considered 'Probationary gangs'. They will remain in their probationary period for 1 month, after which they will be required to submit a full whitelist request to their group managers via their respective gang chat, explaining the reasons as to why they wish to continue into a fully whitelisted gang.
If your request to proceed into a fully whitelisted gang is denied, your gang's whitelist will be removed and the group will be disbanded. There is then a 30-day waiting period before you can apply.
  • If GMs are confident in the groups ability to roleplay, the whitelist letter will be accepted
  • If GMs believe the group could use more time before making an accurate judgment, the letter could be postponed a month to give a trial group more time to RP
  • If a group’s full whitelist letter is declined, the groups whitelist is removed and they cannot re-apply for a minimum of two weeks
Gangs may only voluntarily disband if the majority of the group vote on it (led by the group managers). In order for the gang to stay, there must be a new leader, the vote pass in favor of them, and they must hold at least 4 extra members. Group Managers will always use their discretion and this may change at any time.

Groups are also not allowed to rebrand/reconstruct the name and/or RP of the group during any part of their whitelisting. If a group wishes to rebrand, they will have to re-apply under a new whitelist.

Description/Perks:Requirements to advance:

Group has been accepted to Probationary status.
  • Allowed 10 members
  • May run whitelisted processes
  1. Minimum of one month of active roleplay
  2. No gang strikes during the trial period
  3. Review and Approval from Group Managers
  4. All members being added to the roster must have 7 days of playtime on the character
Group has established itself as a gang and provides good roleplay (fully whitelisted gang).
  • Allowed 20 members
  • Subject to monthly activity checks (requiring monthly update on groups roleplay)

Strike System:
  • Gang strikes are issued if 3 or more members of a group are deemed to be breaking one or more of the community rules and guidelines.
  • Once you receive a strike, it will only fall off if said individuals who got the gang the strike, are removed from the gang, if they are brought back, the strike is re-applied.
  • Gathering multiple strikes at one time will result in the immediate disbandment of the group.
  • Any malicious use (such as, but not limited to: Metagaming, Third party coming, or anything else deemed as malicious) of gang discords, will subject the group to immediate disbandment.
  • Gangs can obtain a maximum of 3 strikes before being placed back into the strike probationary period.
  • The strike probationary period will be determined by the Group Managers to which you will be notified after the period is over.
  • During the strike probationary period, the gang is NOT allowed to add new members.
  • If a gang receives a strike during the strike probationary period, the group will be immediately disbanded.

Whitelisted Activities

- Cocaine Importations
- Oxy Runs
- Gun Running

Any whitelisted gang member is permitted to run and control processes BUT is limited to controlling one process at a time.

E.g. A gang can run and control the cocaine process, but cannot control the gun computer as well and can be subject to GM punishment if seen.

Gang Wars
There is now a four phase system we use to determine gang beef potentially escalating into a gang war. A short version of the system can be seen below, but refer to the document listed for a full in depth explanation of the war system
  1. Starting Conflict
    1. Two groups can only beef/fight up to three times and must proceed to war if they wish to fight further.
  2. Confirmation
    1. Whomever initiated the first fight will need to let GMs know of their intentions including the reason, prize, and length. Groups may be forced to participate in a war if Group Managers deem it as such. There are also no OOC terms to be added during a war and must be decided purely among yourselves. Staff will not enforce any terms.
    2. Group Managers also have the ability to decline a war if the reason seems “petty” or not war worth
  3. The Meeting
    1. If Group Managers deem the war valid, the two groups must meet to discuss the prize/reason/length and war starts exactly 30 minutes after
  4. War
    1. All server rules/gang rules will apply
Legacy Roleplay Conflict and War System

Alliances

We encourage cooperation and engagements between different groups. However, an alliance system should not be implemented to form a supergroup.
  • You are allowed to create an economic alliance, but not a defensive pact. This is to allow a fair and competitive criminal environment where even new groups have a chance to challenge established gangs if given enough time and preparation.
  • You are not allowed to "buddy up" with members of different gangs to fight against one particular gang, all parties must be from the same group when in a war.
Vehicles

The Rumpo and the Hermes are all blacklisted vehicles. You may only purchase and use one if you are in a whitelisted gang, and you may only have 2 out in total at a time.

You are only allowed to have 3 vehicles per group in any car fights. You may not bring back up cars/steal other cars to use in the car fight.

During Car Fights:
There is no direct list of cars that are not allowed, the cars not allowed during fights are “common sense” and if you have to ask if its allowed, chances are it isn’t.

The below guidelines are what is set in place:
  • Do not use a car that does not have a back window or makes the back of the car have a collision (such as, but not limited to, vents)
  • Do not use a PDM/Midnight car that has a spoiler/rollcage. This is because PDM/Midnight spoilers/rollcages have collision and staff have deemed it to be powergaming to use these in fights to give yourself an advantage. EDM Cars should be fine to use as they do not have collision.
  • Do not use a car that is bullet proof. This could be a PDM, EDM, or Midnight car.

Numbers

  • When participating in any criminal activity with your group, you are allowed to be a maximum of 6 people (minus raids, then it's 8 max).
  • When participating in any criminal activity involving a member from a different gang, you are allowed to be a maximum of 6 people.
  • When participating in a Prison Transport, the maximum number of people allowed to be involved is 6 (any WL gang member can participate, but must remain 6). The person being broken out of the transport does not count towards the number and should not engage in any sort of criminal activity. Their main goal is to flee.

Gang hopping and rosters
  • Gang hopping is no longer allowed. You are now limited to a 14-day cooldown when leaving any gang and joining another or the same one, regardless of the way you left your previous gang (yes, including patch-overs- you can be a hang around but non rostered).
  • In regards to this as well, no one is to be added to the roster during a war and if a war is delayed to add a member, they will not be allowed to participate.
  • Nobody will be removed from any roster until the gang leader has requested for them to be. This is for us to ensure that you leaving the gang has been roleplayed out properly, and you're not doing it out of spite or to avoid roleplay with said gang. Anyone who does this (sneakily, by leaving the discord and joining back) will be punished.

Clothing Requests

The asset team will no longer be taking requests for custom gang clothing directly. Instead, the asset team will be in direct contact with Group Managers to gather information on the current state of your groups. You will be able to request to have gang clothing added in your respective gang chats and if the criteria are met, then you may receive custom gang clothing. This is not a guarantee that you will receive custom gang clothing, it is only to let them know that you would be interested in having something added for your gang/group. The minimum criteria for being considered for custom gang clothing is as follows:

1. Groups/Gangs must be fully whitelisted.
2. Your Group/Gang provides quality RP to the community.
3. Your Group/Gang hasn't received any strikes 30 days before requesting in the gang chat.

Following this, if you make or purchase clothing and wish to donate them to the server, then that is appreciated and they are glad to look at them! This being said, however, Legacy Roleplay is under no obligation to add or remove any clothing that has been donated and this should be kept in mind for future donations to our server. It is always good practice to check with Daxter first before paying for something, as she does not want you to waste your money.

Gunplay > Roleplay

In every situation, roleplay should be prioritized. While gunplay will always make its way into the criminal underworld, any opportunity to choose a roleplay route will be enforced by staff and expected of all gang members. This applies to all PD interactions, civilian interactions, and gang interactions. Some examples of this, but not limited to, are:
  • Shooting police over a traffic stop
  • A gang war started over some small-time trash talk
  • Kidnapping the proper officers involved in situations you may be involved in, opposed to just kidnapping anyone with the police job (especially those not involved)

There must be quality reasoning to choose gunplay as opposed to another roleplay route if that option is available and individuals/groups may be subject to punishment if found prioritizing gunplay.
