I. Statement of Claim
On 14th March, 2026, my client was a passenger of a vehicle that was stationary inside of a garage. Whilst sitting in the garage, my client and the driver heard police sirens. They proceeded to leave, and were immediately chased by officers. My client, being the passenger, was unable to escape the situation. The driver eventually got the vehicle stuck, and my client jumped out of the vehicle and began fleeing on foot.
Once apprehended, my client was compliant and was not causing the officers any sort of harm or producing any sort of threat. Once back at a PD station, my client was charged with Kidnapping, which was not possible. My client, had not participated in any sort of force against another person that way, and is a legal business owner. Why would he willingly put his job on the line?
Not only is this charge incorrect and based upon zero evidence, this also affects my client's reputation as a business owner within this city. We are seeking that due to no evidence, the Kidnapping charge be removed from his record.
